Successful Scrapbook Weekend Away

I was in my glory this past weekend...what better than being able to scrapbook with no interruptions, no time restrictions, enough room to spread out (an entire table just for me) and a great friend by my side.  We began scrapping around 1pm on Friday by the time we set up and I went until about 2:30am was up early (6:30) the next morning and exercised, then shopped for a while (see below) and up until 4:30am and back up again at 8am and scrapped until 3:30pm when it was a sad time that we had to stop, pick up and hit the road...back to reality and no more scrapbook heaven :-)

I had a blast and accomplished so much!!!  Met some great new people and lots of projects completed or almost completed.  I am waiting to find the perfect embellishments for a couple, so more playing needed and a tool of mine broke so I need to finish another project once I replace the tool.  This weekend crop did do another thing for me and that was force me to learn how to use my Gypsy.  I have had it since the first day it was released and yes, I just used it for the first time this past weekend.  I love the convenience of this and I welded my first set of letters.  I was very excited about that!

We also took some time out of our day on Saturday to go to Absolutely Everything in Topsfield, Mass. OMG, I was in heaven!  They had a great selection of just what I like, so I was happy...and broke by the time I left - LOL.  They rang the bell at checkout, so those of you that may have gone there know what that means:-).  Lots of new things to try in my classes/projects.  I am really excited and cannot wait to try them all out as well as build them into my upcoming classes.  My mind was going a mile a minute in there.  I will definitely go back.

The crop was run by Theresa Murphy and her sister Beth.  They did a fabulous job and we are definitely going to be regulars at least each February.  They are still looking for a place for their early fall weekend crop.  There were a couple of different vendors (Patrice O'Keefe from Scrappinsheek http://www.scrappinsheek.com/ and Siewleng Hiraldo from Time 2 Scrap http://www.time2scrap.blogspot.com/ )that had a really nice selection of product...and yes, I found more stuff to purchase.  I even took a class from Patrice and she showed me a transfer technique and use of some new products that will be used in upcoming classes.  Thanks Patrice!  Those creative juices were flowing.  Thanks to all of these ladies for a wonderful time!

Classes planned through June have been listed with dates and times.  More information and pictures will be coming soon.

Wishing You A Very Happy Holiday

I wanted to take the time to wish everyone a wonderful holiday and a happy new year.  This week will be another busy one finishing up everything...gifts, decorating (yes, really), cookies and preparing Christmas dinner.  I am looking forward to spending Christmas with friends and family...it's a bit of twist from years past.
When your children are grown and no longer living in your home, Christmas is so different and new traditions need to be built and maybe change from year to year depending on their lives.  I am trying to go with the flow this year...but I really miss the excitement of children on Christmas morning.

I am thankful that we have very dear friends that have little ones and can still share in their excitement waiting for Santa.

This will be the first time in 16 years that I will not have a dog by my side on Christmas morning...and no, Santa is not bringing me a new one.  Jake was the absolute cutest thing on Christmas morning where he would just sit and stare or nudge his stocking until everything was out of it...you will be missed sweetie.   Jesse (my golden) is always in my heart as well.  I still have one furr-baby and Misty will still be under the Christmas tree for her cozy naps for as long as we keep it up.

Yesterday, I saw It's a Wonderful Life for the first time ever (hard to believe I know).  I am glad to say that I am very lucky for the people that I have in my life now.  I hope you all have who you want with you over the holidays and if not remember them with love!
Hope you see you frequently in 2011.
Enjoy and be safe!

NEW Monthly Class Coming in 2011: 12 Days of Christmas

Christmas is always here before you know it and over in a flash. This class will keep Christmas in your heart all through the year...well at least one day a month. Each month you will create a different Christmas/Winter themed project. Let me help you get ahead of the game by creating handmade gifts (if you choose to give them away), cards and decorations. No need to try to get it all done within the last month, right before the holidays. Take one class a month to get ahead of the hustle and bustle.  It's sure to be a JOLLY good time.  Specific dates, times and projects will be announced each month."

Six tags will be provided in class as well as emailing the electronic file so new tags can be made each year. Your kids will enjoy filling it out and their wishes on display. COPIC...COPIC...COPIC

We had a full house today, well technically yesterday...it's late, just got home from Blue Man Group (fun!) and brought in my bags of supplies from todays classes.  If you missed the sign up because we were sold out for the COPIC classes...put it on your holiday wish list as well as the markers or make it a gift certificate so that you can pick out some markers after taking a class.  I will be scheduling more classes beginning in January 2011.  It's scary how soon that will be here.

I will be holding a class on Saturday, December 11 that will utilize all those COPIC skills you learned, using the JUST RITE groovy snowmen and snowwomen :-).  They are so cool...I just love snomen...they really do melt my heart.  If you haven't been bitten by the COPIC bug then bring along your colored pencils or markers of your choice and join us for that same class!

I completed the Intermediate COPIC certification last weekend in Chicago.  It was very informative and looking forward to bringing you some new techniques  /projects using the markers in 2011.

Tomorrow needs to be a clean up my scrapbook room day because I have no space to work and I just got the new Websters Pages papers (Waiting for Santa) for one of my December projects  - LOVE IT and cannot wait to create something.

Have a great one and hope you have fun creating!
